WHY NITRATE?

 

The ingested nitrate (NO3) is transformed by the body into nitric oxide (NO) through the flow NO3 -> Nitrite -> NO.

Nitric oxide (NO) is a powerful vasodilator, that is, it relaxes the blood vessels allowing more blood and nutrients to reach the muscles, all without overloading the heart.

Citrulline is a potent endogenous amino acid precursor of L-arginine, which is the substrate for NO synthesis.

That is, Citrulline supplementation significantly increases nitric oxide (NO) levels.
